Interview Project with Tim Kelly

Tim Kelly is a 47 year old Caucasian (white) male. He was born on July 29, 1965 in Rochester, New York. Tim comes from a large family that consists of five sisters, two brothers, and two loving parents who are still married today. Today, Tim is living in Brentwood, California with his gorgeous wife Erica, his 20 year old son Remi, his playful puppy Bruzer,  a 13 year old cat named Rascal, and opens up his home to me on the weekends.

Tim comes from an academically challenged family. Both of his parents attended college, but did not graduate. Three of his grandparents didn't even graduate from  high school. Only one of his grandmothers graduated from college and became a nurse. Tim graduated from high school, and believes that college education should be free for everyone.

When Tim was in school, there were no minority literature books in his class room. He believes that his history books were accurate. And he claims that his culture was included because he grew up in Canada.

Growing up, Tim's family only kept fictional books in the house. And he owned a library card. Although there were books in his home, Tim's parents never gave him bed-time stories. But years later when Tim had a son, he read to him every night. Tim claims that he purposely read diverse books to his son, Remi, and he absolutely loved it.

Over the years, Tim has observed some negative changes in our school system. He thinks that our schools today are too overcrowded. And he also noticed that his son, Remi, had more homework in middle school and high school than when he was his age.

Even though Tim thinks that our school is not the best it can be, he has never though about making any changes to it. But if he could change anything, he would want there to be smaller class sizes in elementary schools.
