Day 1: I got an email from one of my past directors, Amy Marie Haven. She wanted me to come by the Alameda Little Theatre around 4:00 in the afternoon to start my internship. When I got there I was excited to see that my friends: Brooke,Tatum, Sam, and Gabe Anderson were all apart of the stage crew as well. Amy sat us down in the theatre and told us about our upcoming week and all the tasks we would have to complete before opening night. That day we started striking and spiking the show. We got to get up on stage and get familiar with all the sets and props. Spiking the show means to mark spots on the stage where set pieces were supposed to go. And striking the show means to take set pieces off stage during a blackout. After we went through the entire show, Amy dismissed us.

Day 2: Today I got to the theatre at 9:00 in the morning. The stage crew and I got to warm up and play games with the actors which was really fun. It was cool to reunite with friends from past productions we've done together. After the warm up the actors had to work on singing through the show while the stage crew started working. The musical director, Jordan, gave Tatum and I some gray T-shirts, stencils, red paint, and paint brushes. Our task was to create the Bomont High shirts for the gym scene. It was difficult because we had to make about 20 T-shirts  and we had to make them on a balcony. After we painted Bomont High on all the T-shirts we had to lay them out to dry on the balcony, that took awhile because it wasn't a very sunny day. After that we had lunch. And after lunch we had to do a run-through so the actors could practice their cues and the set crew could practice bringing on the right props for each scene. After that I got to go home.

Day 3: Today I got to the theatre at 9:00 again. Everything was pretty much the same as yesterday, I got to warm up with actors and do run-through all day long. The hardest part about the run-through was bringing and taking off the lockers because they were super heavy. Later on in the day, Amy was working with the actors to choreograph the last song in the show. While she was doing that she told me to start making the bio board. So she gave me an I-phone to take pictures with, and I got to take head-shots of the actors. I thought that was pretty cool.  After all the run-throughs I got to go home.

Day 4: Today is opening night! This is the most exciting part about theatre because you get to show off everything you've learned over the past few weeks. It was the first time I was actually backstage instead of on stage. But even though I love acting, it was still a lot of fun working with everyone to make the show awesome. And then when the show was over the actors got to socialize with the audience which is always cool. And we even had an opening night dance celebration and danced to "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepson on stage. It was alot of fun.
